As a customer, once you are through with paying for your preferred package, the installation is absolutely free. The agent in charge of your area will dispatch a technician to your home to do the installation and ensure that everything works perfectly fine.

I personally use Safaricom home fibre and whenever there’s a problem, which rarely does occur, I dial *400# then give detailed information of the issue. Most issues are solved with just a simple reboot of your router. However, if the problem persists, technicians are sent to assess and fix the problem. This normally takes less than 12 hours.

Once you’ve confirmed your location, dial *400#, dial 400 or send a message to 400. An agent will get back to you within 24 hours. You will be required to confirm your details and make payments for your preferred package via M-PESA by using the Safaricom Home Pay bill number 150501. Once you are done, a technician will be sent to do the installation. This normally takes less than 48 hours.
As part of the installation process, Safaricom will provide you with a Wi-Fi router that will enable you to access the Wi-Fi network within your home. Safaricom will set up the Wi-Fi network and configure your username and password which you require to access the Service.

Safaricom Home Fibre Insurance Package
To ensure the safety of items in your home, Safaricom has introduced yet another option to its users called Safaricom Home Fibre Insurance. In partnership with Jubilee Insurance, the insurance product covers household items against unforeseen theft events. The product comes in three packages that range from insuring normal house content to high-risk items such as laptops and mobile phones. The packages are as follows:
- Hero Plus. Kshs 250,000 for home content and Kshs 75,000 for high-risk items at a monthly premium of Kshs 250.
- Pro Guard. Kshs 500,000 for home content, Kshs 150,000 for high-risk items at a monthly premium of Kshs 475.
- Fortified Guard. Kshs 1,000,000 for home content, Kshs 300,000 for risky content at a monthly premium of Kshs 1,350.
