The Safaricom Golf Tour will be headed to the Limuru Country Club this weekend for the second leg of the series. The corporate tournament will be held on the Saturday the 26th with the Junior tournament on Sunday 27th February.
The Safaricom Golf Tour was launched with the purpose of making the game accessible to all, with the tour going around the country with several tournaments including Junior golf clinics that teach the young on golf.
The first leg of the inaugural Safaricom Golf tour which was in Nanyuki this last weekend saw former caddie and Nanyuki based golfer, Cyprian Bundi win after returning 39 Stableford points.
Taking the ladies top prize was Marion Githinji, who posted 33 to win by one point from Dr Susan Ngure.
The first leg of the Safaricom Golf Tour culminated in the Junior Golf Tournament, which saw Belinda Wanjiru emerge as the best girl with 76 points, while Justin Ngeera emerged as the best boy with 72 points.
Safaricom will pour in KES 100 million for this inaugural edition of the tour, which will be played in various golf clubs across the country which will culminate with the grand finale at Vipingo Ridge Golf Resort in August, where winners from each event will converge to determine the overall champions.
