Nokia and durability are two words that perfectly match each other. Let me first begin by telling you a short interesting story. My grandma who is 76 years old, is one happy Nokia phone user.
She has owned only one phone in her entire life. This phone, a Nokia 1110i has been part of her life since 2005 after my uncle bought it for her. And yes, she has been and is still using it for close to 16 years now.
It’s been a battle for us in trying to get her a different modern phone. All our efforts to get her to change it have proved futile. What personally amazes me is the fact that the Nokia device has stood the test of time yet continues to deliver what it was meant to do without any itch for over 15 years.
The story, which I know many people relate to clearly depicts how Nokia phones are built to last.
Unlike the yesteryears, most devices nowadays have a life span of two to three years according to Hyla. This means that as a user you have to budget for another phone or upgrade to a newer version every so often. However, Nokia has been and still intends to retain its high build quality and durability on its mobile devices. The company under HMD Global, banks on manufacturing devices that can withstand a wide range of extreme conditions. Conditions the devices are touted as capable of withstanding include extreme temperature, high humidity, snow, water, etc, and staying functional for the longest time possible.
Apart from durability, I’m so proud of the strides Nokia is taking with regards to its camera and AI imaging. In both indoor and outdoor conditions, Nokia phones offer good exposure, with fairly wide dynamic range in the high-contrast scenes and generally pleasant color rendering, The advanced imaging allows you to capture studio-style shots with depth-sensing imaging and selectable bokeh blur, as well as portrait lighting.
The designs as shown from its latest models are more appealing. Building on the success of its predecessor, Nokia phone devices packs even more powerful performance and great new features into a more compact yet durable aesthetic. The resilient Scandinavian design is combined with an emotive character that forms both bold and pure, yet natural and physically tactile create a very human design. It’s through this that Nokia has bagged several awards in recent years including IF Designs Awards 2020 where six Nokia phones have been honored for outstanding design.
Our own stories about Nokia phones whether old or new should always serve as a reminder of the type of phone you should look for especially if you are looking for something that lasts. Get yourself a Nokia phone.
