Glovo, the Spanish logistics company has introduced Glovo Prime in Kenya which promises unlimited free deliveries in December.
The company says their users in Kenya will have the opportunity to use the service for free this December to make unlimited deliveries on orders they place at restaurants and stores.
“We want to provide Glovo users with solutions that are practical and that help them in their daily lives. That’s why this holiday season we want to give back to our users with the Glovo Prime service and offer them the opportunity to test the service for free. This month of testing allows them to try the experience of ordering unlimited, without paying delivery fees,” said Priscilla Muhiu, General Manager, Glovo Kenya.
Glovo Prime is a subscription service where you pay a monthly fee to get unlimited free deliveries throughout the month. It reminds me of the benchmark Amazon Prime that has been available for years and Jumia Prime that was released some time back. Glovo Prime can be activated directly from the customer account and the subscription is renewed every 30 days from the day of registration. Stores that are applicable for Glovo have a purple Glovo icon highlighted.
This campaign can be seen as a move by Glovo to sign up as many users as possible to Glovo Prime during December. Glovo says that users who are not on Glovo Prime can enjoy its benefits this month but from January, they will have the opportunity to extend the subscription for KES 1,000 a month. The deliveries are free for orders placed in supermarkets and Glovo Party on stores marked with a purple icon and if the order value exceeds KES 1,000.
