This week, Airtel Kenya unveiled new mobile plans that include unlimited data access from 1GB bundle daily offer going for 99 shillings dubbed “New Amazing Bundles”.
The new bundles include a:
1GB bundle daily offer for 99 Bob 2GB weekly bundle for 249 Bob and 1GB monthly bundle for 300 Bob
The move is said to have been as a result of meeting the demands of the increasing number of smartphone users in Kenya further pushing the battle for mobile data dominance in the market.
In a statement, Airtel Kenya Managing Director Mr Prasanta Das Sarma said that Airtel Kenya continues to empower its customers by constantly offering data products for both heavy and occasional users that are looking for uninterrupted data at affordable rates.
“Customers can subscribe to the New 1GB Bundle by dialling *544*1# and choosing their preferred bundle,” added Mr Prasanta.
The Managing Director noted that the company will remain committed to giving its customers greater freedom by offering them access to affordable superior quality communication and services.
According to the Communications Authority of Kenya, the number of mobile subscriptions and penetration have been growing at a very high rate and it currently stands at 40.2 million and 86.2 percent respectively.
This positive trajectory has also seen an increase in data subscriptions and access to the internet.
In efforts to drive sales and uptake of these new products, Airtel has also rolled out a TV and Radio campaign dubbed ‘Smartika na 1GB’ that highlights the numerous benefits that Airtel customers are set to enjoy with the new and exciting data bundles.
